We temporarily shored and secured the porch posts, documented existing conditions with photos, and removed and disposed of all deteriorated wood in accordance with the Waste Management Plan requirements. We repaired foundation footings/supports as needed and rebuilt the porch structural and finish components, including subflooring, decking/landings, stair stringers and treads/risers, posts, balusters, skirting, railings, and associated trim. We installed treated wood at all concrete/ground contact points and used galvanized, non-corrosive hardware to maintain structural integrity while preserving the historic appearance in compliance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards. We prepped all new surfaces with exterior-grade putty and caulking, then applied one coat of primer and two finish coats to match existing color and sheen.
